Purple Magic Lesson 1
Welcome everyone back from summer! I'm excited for our 3rd and final year!
Practice 5 days a week for 5 tallies. Remember to sit on the left of your child for at least the first 2 days of practice. Maybe try the hardest thing first, and stay positive. Remember to ATTEMPT each song! By the end of the week, they should have it down.I really encourage you to work on white key naming (alphabet pieces game). Or just call out a note name (A-G) and have your child play it. This is something we might be rusty on from the summer break.
Listen to the digital album. Here are your Hidden Lyrics "The Treble Cleff Spaces are easy you see, cause space rhymes with face so spell F-A-C-E." Students can sing them to me to get an extra prize in class next week!
Help with the new app can be found here.
If you still can't figure it out, just email the office: office@letsplaymusicsite.com
I'll text you a video for some extra help on Scale Out and In.

Please email/text me back a side view of your child at the keyboard. If you need some guidance, just watch this video.
Purpose in the Play
Treble, Bass, Line and Space
Time to learn all the note names on the staff! This song also teaches countermelody ( a secondary melody played against a primary melody) and helps your student sing in 4 part harmony.
Bounce and Roll
Complete musicianship is more than knowing WHICH notes to play. We are now ready to add another dimension of HOW to play the notes. This song allows us to 'physically' know and understand the articulations of staccato and legato. Articulation refers to the musical performance technique that affects the transition or continuity on a single note, or between multiple notes or sounds.
Making Musicians
As you start out this year, check out this practice tip from our Let's Play Music Blog. Here's a little 'practice humor' for you, and just for fun I have attached some fun coloring pages. Just print them off and color as you listen to our new "Royal Problem" puppet show! Can you hear the characters that you are coloring?
